Comment vs Compliment

Two very different comments heard recently, directed to my musings on beer.

Commenter #1: "Oh, you're the alcoholic."

Commenter #2: "You are the first guy I think of when I think beer."

 I smiled in response to both statements, though with different intent.

    Know the difference between an alcoholic and a drunk? Alcoholics go to meetings!
    Though we have never met, your writings lead me to believe you are neither.
    My palate and knowledge of the hoppy beverages pales to yours, but I enjoy reading your reviews and descriptions , nonetheless.
